about

A 19 track compilation CD sold as a ten way split single... If we;d made any money it would have gone to Love Music Hate Racism, maybe we can put this right now!

Press Release

R*E*P*E*A*T and Sturm & Drung Recordings Presents

The Love Music Hate Racism ep
A ten way spilt single – 19 edgy tracks from some of the cream of the underground indie talent of Eastern England for just £2.50 inclusive.

Veteran legendary underground label R*E*P*E*A*T Records continue to kick against the pricks with a new 19 track CD which aims to to throw another musical Molotov at the likes of Nazi BNP and their thuggish friends in the EDL, while simultaneously alerting the world to some of the best new musical talent bubbling under in their neck of the woods.

Featuring 2 new tracks each from 9 bands (and just one from Fever Fever, who forgot to record a second!), this collection is being sold as a '10 way split single' for the price of a single, yet the ep also hangs as a whole, while showcasing some of the best innovative guitar bands from the Eastern side of Britain:

Ten City Nation (Bury St Edmunds) www.myspace.com/tencitynation
“The best use of fuzz pedal we’ve heard this year… the kind of music that’s in search of beauty” – NME
"Cried-out Stooges-style vocals, energetic jagged riffs, and a taut QOTSA-style bass and drum section that thunders like bison’s hooves across abandoned deserts... an act that’s clearly looking to push into vital punk rock terrains." - God Is In The TV

The Shills (Cambridge) www.myspace.com/theshillsuk
"Classic Indie with a hint of old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll genius" - Jezz Salis, BBC Radio

Popular Workshop (London) www.myspace.com/popularworkshop
"So insanely catchy … that kids might well find their bedrooms turned into mini-isolation wards as attempts are made to limit its wired, post-punk-cum skronk-pop power." - TimeOut

Micropenis (Cambridge / London) www.myspace.com/ilovemicropenis
"Degenerate dicsodronefreaks" – The Fly
“Sleazy disco-punk duo … expect high fashion and theatrics."-Crushing Death and Grief

Kunk (Norwich) www.myspace.com/kunk
"One of the finest releases of the year!" - John Kennedy, XFM
“edgy, alternative, slightly angular and rather infectious indie guitar tracks that bite." - Organ Magazine

Hyman Roth (Cambridge) www.myspace.com/thehymanroth
What Queens of the Stone Age would sound like if they'd met Mclusky in a sinking Cambridge punt.

Greg McDonald (London / Bury St Edmunds) www.myspace.com/gregmcdonalduk
Think Leonard Cohen meets Joe Strummer on a riotous South London pub crawl, Greg McDonald is a “revolutionary street-folk songwriter” who Rolling Stone calls “a poetic genius”.

Glory Glory (Norwich) www.myspace.com/glorygloryband1
“... it's the kind of twitch punk-rock that Norwich seems to do so well' - The Fly

Feedback (Histon) www.myspace.com/feedback665
13 / 14 year old pop-punkas with big ideas and a bigger noise.

Fever Fever (Norwich) www.myspace.com/feverfevertheband
"Three piece girl/boy sex sandwich. Stuttering guitar, firecracker drums, and agitated call-and-response vocals, go see them." - The Fly
